  1. With my busy life, the "All About Me Essay" made me stop and really reflect about who I am. The topic is about family and how they are part of me. It is interesting to write about for me because in a long time I have not emphasized family a lot.
I think the descriptive Narration draws attention about the topic because it describes it for you. It makes it easier for the reader to have that feel they are there.

  2. @ Leilani! Wow, that's great and I hope my proofreading and comments helped you !(:

During this pass week, we had recently the assignment "All About Me"
Although getting used to the writing process took a while and a lot of review, I eventually managed to get it completed. It was hard to narrow down on a topic about ourselves because there were so many events that took place in our life.

Our next writing method, descriptive narration, is one I can't wait to try. Using many details to tell a story with the four stages of a narrative, I believe it will be much fun! We should enjoy it next week! (:

Have a great online break everyone! Evidently we are not in school.

Yeah buddy, This week was pretty hectic for me but it was also pretty solid. Learning about the writing process was hard for me Because I like to get straight to the point. Breaking everything down step by step was challenging, but with more practice I know it will become second nature and help me for future writings. Everyone in the class are still pretty chill but like I said "its still early" peace.

Don't worry, you aren't alone. I think the writing process was difficult for me too.

    2. @Jeff
It is difficult to think and write; I would agree that it's tedious too. But after this course, I hope for all of us to pass and successfully write papers at ease!

    3. @ Jeff...I totally agree with you all :) and with the writing process it will and has helped so far :)
Having the honor in reading your essay was awesome and it's one way of getting to know you. You have so much potential in so many things, so just continue to grow and like I told Jackie...Strive for the best always and your goals as well!

    4. JEFF! Don't be stressed out brother! It is only going to make you word twice as hard in order to get things accomplished. I'm glad you had the decency to take the time that you needed in order to finish what you needed to do. :)

  4. For a while now, I haven't really reflected on how my life has been through the years. I usually just let time pass me by without a thought of it. The "all about my life" essay helped me reflect on the concerns of my life as of now. It showed me that a big part of my life are my children and how they are being raised. It surprised me how much I noticed just stopping to think what is really going on in my life. Descriptive narratives, in my opinion, are the easiest to write. You just take some time to recollect information on a specific event and describe it exactly how you remember it. Plus a description usually deals with a lot of adjectives, making it easier to reword or rephrase different things.

    4. It is so much easier when you can stop and think about these things that happen in our lives and how we got her. Just know that what you are doing for yourself and your kids and amazing thing...don't let done on your goals in life and keep striving for the best!!!

  5. My essay slightly includes my childhood years, and it was difficult to put my thoughts from the past into a paper. To be honest, most of them are all vague in my head. I could not recall who I was in the past, other than being immature and spoiled.
All in all, it was a great experience to include few events in my past into the paper because they were all nostalgic moments.

    1. Hey Ed:)
everyone was spoiled once. Its nice to know we all grow up and realize that being spoiled isn't all that great. Just working hard is a feel good feeling all in itself.

    2. I agree recieving something you worked hard for feels good knowing that you've earned it. peace

    3. Your childhood is extremely hard to remember especially if you had so many events. In my situation, it took me a long time in order put my thoughts onto paper, just as you did. I'm glad that you had found a way to do that. :)

  6. Late reply:
The "All about me" essay, was a very hard topic to write about the different events that made me "me". The discussion this week on descriptive narration helped keep my essay interesting. This reflection opened my eyes and allowed me to appreciate the special relationships I have with the members of my family. Each event created an unknown lesson being taught and each event became something I keep apart of my morals in life. This essay topic isn't done as often so when you do write about yourself we remember all the silly, crazy, and scary things we did growing up.

Thanks Dr. Rivera, for the blast from the past:)

  7. My reflection on this past week was pretty interesting, especially on our essay "All About Me". When first writing the essay and thinking back to what exactly it was that I wanted to write I kinda just went on about the things I love and have experience. It was when Professor Palomo handed back our first draft and talked about what are the big NO NO's to an introduction and I was like oh my I need to redo a whole lot. Using the methods in this past weeks lesson has help me very much. I was able to write my essay so much better than the first draft and with my partner Jeffs peer reviews that was a plus too. I'm excited for the turn out for our essays and just thinking back to what I wanna write about me has brought some really good memories and some wishy washy ones too. All in all the experience of writing about yourself is awesome.

    1. You're to cool Maria ;] Thank you too for the great peer reviews. They help me alot for my essays. I know everyone in class is getting the writing process down.

      Peace, Jeff out

    2. Maria! Yes that was true about what Mrs. Palomo said. There are so no no's to any introduction and sometimes aren't useful. I'm glad you were able to take those out from your piece. :)
